Brighton Festival --- scary monsters, psychopaths & assorted loonies

Scary Monsters : http://youtu.be/hV4SnQXhwWk
I've been enjoying final-week of Brighton Festival ---- `One flew over the Cuckoos Nest' play last sunday --- supporting best-friend Gordon (who was magnificent as the tall American-Indian guy); `Monsters & Prodigies' at Corn Exchange on Tuesday; `Butley' play at Theatre Royal on Weds; last night Jon Ronson talking about his new book on how to spot a psychopath --- + why so many of them are business-owners ?! : http://www.jonronson.com/

Chillin' tonight at a fringe-show with Shend ----  I hope you've have been paying attention to this blog + remember him from previous posts ?? ---- if not I'll send him 'round to sort-you-out ... ---- if he's not touting for rent-boys !!
Shend's show-reel : http://youtu.be/cBK3CvRCSNs
Little Britain - Rent Boy --- with Shend as a leather-clad punter : http://youtu.be/t4H-1qB_buM

To introduce a touch of culture --- I'm attending the `Joan of Arc' performance at Brighton Dome on sunday : http://www.brightondome.org/events/The-Passion-of-Joan-of-Arc/4151

Brighton Festival : Superhero Brighton Accountant ---- who am I ??

Whats my name : http://youtu.be/51hK-D2uH64 [with apologies for mfing naughty words]
Hanging with The Dogfather at his Brighton Dome gig on sunday :
 http://www.brightondome.org/events/Snoop-Dogg/4282

To slip a bit of culture into the weekend; I'm attending the Wagner opera screening at Duke of York's early-eve today :
http://www.picturehouses.co.uk/cinema/Duke_Of_Yorks/film/Met_Opera_Die_Walkure/
then onwards late eve to sexy club-night Margots Parties at Brighton Ballroom : http://margots.org/details.htm

I'm supporting my best-mate Gordon in Brighton Fringe productions of `One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest' + `Get Carter' :
http://www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk/ticketing/index.aspx?ev=2899
http://www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk/ticketing/index.aspx?ev=2543

I connected with Gordon through a glam retro-lounge club-night The Kroon Kat Lounge --- now ended 'cause the audiences just got too frigging dreary for such fabulosity. I dredge-up from youtube an old fringe festival clip of a `well-refreshed' Gordon giving-it some PR ... : http://youtu.be/dCNi5SQtcSA

The diary of Horace Wimp -- Sunday, Brighton Festival : Roll over Beethoven -- Mr B gentleman rhymer is in da house

Roll over Beethoven : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgcKhqlFz4Q
thrilled to attend concert of Beethoven's Fidelio tonight at Brighton Dome :
http://www.brightonfestival.org/Event/Fidelio/4112

Plus afterwards, shall wander over to see Mr B gentleman rhymer demonstrate how he invented hip-hop : http://www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk/ticketing/index.aspx?ev=3035
Tinie, Dizzee, etc ----- Really I say -- what incoherent drivel.
A far better exponent of that hippety-hop rap styling is Brighton & Hove's Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer -- laying down some Chap-hop flavours in clear pronounication :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t28COxEp2k
I `big-up' his album `flattery not included' -- most fine tunes indeed :
http://www.myspace.com/mrbthegentlemanrhymer

Superhero Accountant HQ comes outa the same ghetto-turf as Mr B -- the mean streets of Hove [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3AfrfHvBl4 ] to take care of your Accy & Tax requirements.

What -- you're going to wait instead for Superman to rescue your finances ??
Well he's a fairy, I do suppose, flying through the air in panty-hose :

having a client who 's a circus-elephant-shit-shoveller does not make you Mr Showbiz !!

Don't mean to be bitchy but ---- those local non-superhero `arts-media-showbiz' accountants & lawyers who big-themselves-up at networking-events + in internetland --- I never see them at concerts/exhibitions etc (though I appreciate they're likely to have family-commitments etc).

I saw the film `Water for Elephants' on wednesday eve :
http://www.cineworld.co.uk/cinemas/3?film=4248
A beautiful film --- some potentially-upsetting images of animlal-cruelty ; within context of early travelling-circus life & attitudes.

I am excited to lead-into Brighton Festival opening-weekend :

oscar nominee clients at Superhero Accountant HQ --- from busking to Broadway etc

From last friday's Argus feature that The Old Market arts centre in Hove is re-launching this May with owners Luke Cresswell & Steve McNicholas of STOMP stage-show, Yes/No Productions, Lost & Found Orchestra, IMAX film production, etc --- who the Argus refer to as previously oscar nominees. I had not realised they were previous oscar nominated -- I guess in film-production category. They are most talented of course, + a valued client at Superhero Accountant HQ.

I was at school with Luke -- playing in the school-band etc -- Luke dropped-out of school as soon as possible to go busking etc + do his percussion --- we knew nothing would come of that ... !! :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8dIxPLym2w

Also from that busking-scene came Superhero HQ client Mick Perrin --- now mr big-cheese in producing shows for Eddie Izzard etc : http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/how-we-met-harry-enfield--mick-perrin-1702042.html

Its great that in these days of hard-edged-business programmes like Dragons Den & The Apprentice -- where you're told you should have a focused 5-year business plan etc --- nice-guys like STOMP + Mick Perrin can achieve great success through just informally pursuing their passions & talent.

I would be pleased to make connections with creative businesses & individuals who have a passion : Twitter : http://twitter.com/#!/AccyKeef -- or message me on 07952 297971

glowing client-testimonial received --- lets have it stuffed & mounted ?!

"Jeffs Taxidermy --- we mount anything" --- to my shame, at the back of the wardrobe theres still a t-shirt with that slogan --- vague recollections of it being worn on a 1980s holiday to Costa Brava etc. If I ever slim-down into summertime-mode it maybe re-appearing ...

Anyway -- from yesterday's VAT-inspection, I cut-n-paste client's message received at Superhero HQ :
` thank you for being completely on top of the VAT inspection today. It was so reassuring to have you there and for you to be up to speed '.
Lovely to receive --- I had taken all necessary preparation time + set-aside 5-6 hours for meeting discussions. All went smoothly + we got the bestest possible decision from VAT Inspector.

This client is a good London-based-theatreland connection for us to maintain --- they will be bringing the production `Butley' for preview at Brighton Festival -- featuring Dominic West & Paul McGann :

Excited to attend Brighton Festival launch-event early-eve tonight : http://www.brightonfestival.org/
I can remember Festival-times from school-days + playing in Brighton Youth Orchestra ---- happy moments spent blowing-trombone (er, thats not a euphemism).

Theres also `ride the wave' initiative event to promote creative connections :
http://www.businessinbrighton.org.uk/event/lets-get-together-how-work-collaboratively

I saw the films `No Strings Attached' + `True Grit' :
http://www.cineworld.co.uk/cinemas/3?film=3982
http://www.cineworld.co.uk/cinemas/3?film=3918
True Grit kinda lures you into the story + fine acting ?? --- I was thinking I'm not so interested in watching, then got engrossed in the action & scenery.

I want to be a paperback writer : some more stuff what I writted

Oh yes -- though I envisage my published thoughts would be in v-expensive leather-bound hardback version ; rather than mere pauperback copies for common people to dip into ?!

Good to see super-fab Brighton author won `Roald Dahl Funny Prize' book-award  :
http://www.lovereading4kids.co.uk/genre/fun/Roald-Dahl-Funny-Prize.html

I joined a `Brighton Dome & Festival members' book-club awhile back -- but the selections have been too intellectual for my reading -- plus the meet-ups seem to clash with diary-commitments in increasingly hectic wintertimes.

Rest regards
